Lightning Storm game rules: the DigiWheel, the side bets and all five bonus rounds

Lightning Storm is played on Evolution's DigiWheel — a real wheel with a video wall built into its face. The rules fit on one screen: bet on the Leaf for an instant even-money payout, or on numbers that may open a bonus round. Everything else on this page is detail about how those bonus rounds reach their multipliers.

The whole wheel seen straight on in a dark studio, a bright yellow-gold rim over a steel ring set with brass rivets, a deep navy outer ring of blank cells, a full circle of muted teal wedges separated by thin yellow lines, every other wedge holding a glowing bonus symbol, a red-orange fireball sphere, a violet plasma orb in a small square frame or a green glass battery cell

The game launched in July 2024. The rules below follow the provider's published description; payout percentages are the provider's figures.

How is the Lightning Storm wheel laid out?

The wheel has 39 segments:

During the same spin, some of the numbered segments also pick up a random multiplier from 2x to 50x. If the wheel stops there, that multiplier is applied to whatever the bonus round pays. Say a segment picked up x15 and its Hot Spot round ends at 40x: a chip on that number is paid 600x.

What bets can you place?

BetWhat it coversReturn to player
Leafall 19 Leaf segments, pays 1:197.44%
Numberone number from 1 to 2095.13%
All Odd / All Eventhe ten odd or ten even numbers—
Storm Chaseradds a chip to whichever number receives the Lightning Storm symbol95.12%
X Chasercovers every number that receives both a bonus symbol and a multiplier95.13%

Storm Chaser and X Chaser are placed before the spin and filled in automatically once the symbols land. Each has its own price on top of the base stake, shown on the table. If your own chip already sits on the number Storm Chaser picks, the two stakes are added together.

What happens in each bonus round?

All five rounds end with one number: your multiplier. They differ in how they get there and whether you make a choice along the way.

Hot Spot — pick a tile, up to 10,000x

A wall of 9 × 12 tiles hides shuffled multipliers, with the biggest grouped together in a "hot spot". You choose a tile before anything is revealed. Then a 3 × 3 frame travels across the wall and doubles the nine tiles it stops on. If your tile is inside it, your multiplier doubles.

Monster Mash — three reels, up to 10,000x

Three horizontal reels show a head, a torso and legs, each with a multiplier. Regular multipliers add up; Global multipliers multiply. Using the provider's own example: x10 legs, x10 torso and x5 head make 500x, while plain 10, 10 and 5 make 25x. There is nothing to choose here.

Battery Charger — a conveyor of ten batteries, up to 10,000x

Ten batteries ride a conveyor: nine carry Regular multipliers, one carries a Global that doubles every battery still waiting. A small wheel decides each drop. Red overloads the battery and the next one comes up; green with a Regular multiplier ends the round on that battery. If only one battery is left, it is yours.

Fireball — a real ball, up to 10,000x

A physical ball is launched into an enclosure with 149 pockets holding Regular and Double multipliers. Landing on a Regular ends the round. Landing on a Double doubles every Regular on the floor and the ball is launched again — this can repeat until every pocket reaches 10,000x.

Lightning Storm — three strikes, up to 20,000x

The rarest round, held on a giant rooftop billboard of 8 Regular and 3 Global multipliers. You pick one of three lightning strikes before they fall. Each strike lands on one or more multipliers; Regulars are added up and may be multiplied by a Global. Your strike's total is your multiplier. Its cap of 20,000x is the highest in the game.

How do you play your first round?

  1. 1
Open the game in a casino's live lobby and watch two or three rounds without betting.
  2. 2
Decide what you want from the session: steadier play on Leaf, or numbers for a chance at a bonus.
  3. 3
Place the chip before the timer closes. A number bet only pays if the wheel stops on that exact number.
  4. 4
If you are in a bonus round with a choice — Hot Spot or Lightning Storm — make it before the on-screen timer runs out.
